Shell Scholarship is one of the most sought after scholarship. Every year, Shell offer a number of scholarships to support students in achieving their personal goals and ambitions. The scholarship is awarded to Malaysian students for pursuing full-time undergraduate studies (1st degree course) tenable at recognized universities in Malaysia or overseas, and Pre-University studies in Malaysia.


Shell also award 2 scholarships to study Msc in Geosciences with University Technology Petronas Scholarships for Post-Graduate Studies.


Fields of Study

• Sciences (Geosciences, Chemistry and Physics)


• Business Administration / Economic/ Finance & Accounting


• IT (includes Business / Management IT)


• Master of Science (MsC) in Geosciences


Eligibility


Students who have completed their SPM / O-Level, STPM / A-Level / Foundation Year / Diploma or currently in their final semester of Matriculation studies or in the private / public University who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the ShellMalaysia Scholarship Awards:


• SPM, O Level, Diploma, Matriculation, STPM, A Level or Year 1 undergraduate student


• Strong academic record and realistic expectations of a high CGPA or its equivalent


• Good written and spoken English


• Leadership qualities and potential through active participation in extra-curricular activities such as societies and clubs, sports etc.


• For MSc in Geosciences, candidate must posses a good Honours Degree or equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized university.


Applicants who are Malaysian citizens must possess a credit in Bahasa Melayu at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or an equivalent qualification. Foreign and local students are required to have English proficiency in both written and spoken by the meeting one the following requirements:


• Minimum TOEFL score of 550 OR


• Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 OR


• Minimum ELTS score of Band-6 OR


• Minimum MUET score of Band-4.


Applicants who are native English speakers or holding a degree with English as the medium of instruction may be exempted from this requirement.


How to Apply


All applications including the application form must be submitted online. Applications may be submitted based on the latest semester results (for Matriculation students) or trial examination results (for SPM, STPM students). ShellMalaysia reserves the right to verify the above. Shell Malaysia aims to reflect diversity of the communities it works in and will award the scholarships on this basis.

• Incomplete Application Form and late submission will be rejected.

1. PETRONAS Education Scholarship Overseas Programs
Petronas Education Scholarship Overseas programmes are mainly for those pursuing Engineering, Applied Science, Business Management and Economics. Under the programme, scholars will pursue their pre-university programmes (A-Levels / International Baccalaureate / Australian Foundation / New Zealand Foundation) in Malaysia and must excel prior to pursuing undergraduate studies overseas.


2. Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Program
The UTP programme is for those wishing to pursue degree courses in engineering and technology at one of the most prestigious universities in Malaysia. Admission is based on excellent SPM qualifications. Under this programme, students are required to follow and pass the Foundation Programme (1 year) at UTP before proceeding with a Bachelor Programme

Overseas Technical Programs

Credit in BM, at least Grade 2A in English, Modern Math, Add Math, Physics/ Chemistry/ any other Engineering related subjects. Total unit for the above 5 subjects to be not more than 10.


Overseas Non Technical Programs
(Accounts & Finance, Business Administration, Economics)
Credit in BM, at least Grade 2A in English, Modern Math, Prinsip Akaun/ Perdagangan/ Economics/any other relevent subjects. Total unit for the above 5 subjects to be not more than 10.


University Teknologi Petronas

(Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Information System)
Credit in BM, at least Grade 3B in English, Modern Math, Add Math, Physics/ Chemistry/ any other Engineering related subjects. Total unit of the above 5 subjects to be not more than 12 (Engineering) or 15 (IT/IS).
